Susie is leading the The Importance of Gut Health workshop

I am Registered Nutritional Therapist, with a BSc (Hons) degree in Nutritional Therapy. I graduated in 2008. I am registered with the British Association of Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). I have been in clinical practice for over 11 years and have appeared on numerous  BBC radio shows.

My story

Having suffered my own health problems and after trying different medications, none of which alleviated my symptoms and often gave me other side effects, I did my own research.  And through diet and lifestyle changes I made dramatic improvements to my symptoms of IBS, brain fog and immune problems. Since then, I’ve never looked back. I developed a very good understanding of my own body and its needs, and eliminated all the  symptoms I had. This inspired me to explore nutritional therapy and health as I wanted to learn more and help others. I have since helped many IBS and other gastrointestinal disorder sufferers, along with those with other  complex health conditions and symptoms.

My Approach

My training and clinical practice is based on a Functional Medicine model which is science-based and patient-centred approach that aims to explore underlying mechanisms of diseases and symptoms. By looking for the root of the problem I am able to see each patient on an individual level where similar causes may manifest in different symptoms and where different causes may manifest in similar symptoms. I have a particular interest in gut and digestive health and its effect on our overall health and its link with other chronic complex conditions.
