I am Registered Nutritional Therapist, with a BSc (Hons) degree in Nutritional Therapy. I graduated in 2008. I am registered with the British Association of Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). I have been in clinical practice for over 10 years and have appeared on numerous  BBC radio shows.

Throughout my late teens and early twenties, I had recurrent tonsillitis for which I had to take lots of antibiotics as this was all my doctor could offer, I then went on to develop allergies to some of medication I had been taking. I also suffered all kinds of digestive symptoms ranging from altered bowel habits, gas and bloating which was diagnosed by my GP as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). I tried different medications, none of which alleviated my symptoms and often gave me other side effects, so I did my own research. I made some really positive changes to my diet and worked on my fitness. Since then I’ve never looked back. I developed a very good understanding of my own body and its needs, and never had tonsillitis again and managed to get my IBS under control. This inspired me to explore nutritional therapy and health as I wanted to learn more and help others. I have since helped many IBS and other gastrointestinal disorder sufferers, along with those with other health conditions and symptoms.

My training and clinical practice is based on a Functional Medicine model which is science-based and a patient-centred approach that aims to explore underlying mechanisms of diseases and symptoms. By looking for the root of the problem I am able to see each patient on an individual level where similar causes may manifest in different symptoms and where different causes may manifest in similar symptoms. I have a particular interest in gut and digestive health and its effect on our overall health and its link with other chronic conditions.

I love learning about health and the human body; it never fails to amaze me how much more there is to discover. We are in a time where research is moving fast, so I base my practice on current scientific research and understanding of physiological functions.
